Our podcast “The XChange” is hosted by Travis Slocum. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, he grew up in a military family all over the world. Having his morals, values, and childhood in the military, he has traveled most of his life. Later, he ended up in Palm Bay, FL to finish out grade school and pursue higher education. Currently he is studying a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Central Florida. He also is very in touch with his local community. Starting his own clothing line “Black is” and with past experience in social justice and advocacy at the university, he always tries to find ways to give back to the community. “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”, A quote from Muhammed Ali, a mantra he tries to live by with the life he was given. These platforms soon led him to protest on the frontline of the Black Lives Matters movement. The voice of the people and crucial conversations are what he tries to bring to those who need it most. This led him to our team to amplify that message and share those untold stories that can redefine the narrative for black males in the community.
